The Way To Secure Your Wordpress Blog

When I was in college, one of my company instructors told us students that one of the greatest hurdles to making money in business was procrastination.

I back my blogs frequently using a free plugin WP DB Backup up. If anything happens I can restore my website to the last settings. I use my blog to be scanned by WP Security Scan plugin that is free frequently and WordPress Firewall to block suspicious-looking requests to fix wordpress malware.

Don't depend on your internet host - Many people rely on their web host to"do all that technical stuff for me", not realizing that sometimesthey do not! Far better to have the responsibility lie with you, rather than out.

You also need to set the"Anyone Can Register" in Settings/General to off, and you should have some sort of spam plugin. Akismet is the one I use, the old standby, but there are many best site of them these days.

Can you see that folder Imagine if you go to WP-Content/plugins? If so, upload that blank Index.html file into that folder as well so people can't view what plugins you have. Someone can use this to get access because if your version of WordPress is current, if you're using a plugin or an old plugin using a security hole.

Oh . And incidentally, I was talking about plugins. When you get a new plugin, make sure it's a secure one. Don't install any plugin just because the owner Visit Your URL is saying on his website that plugin will help you do this or that. Maybe use a test blog to look at the plugin, or perhaps get a software engineer to examine it. This way is not a threat for you or your organization.
